Spring cleanup season is in full swing, and we're out in the Oak Glen Neighborhood getting properties reset the right way. That means cutting back perennials, clearing out beds, and blowing out all the leftover debris that's been sitting through winter. It's not glamorous work, but it makes a huge difference in how your yard performs all season long.

One of the biggest things we're doing right now is dethatching. If your lawn looks matted, patchy, or just slow to green up, thatch buildup is usually the culprit. Over time, dead grass and debris pile up between the soil and the living grass above it - and that layer blocks water, air, and nutrients from getting where they need to go. Your lawn ends up fighting itself just to grow.

Dethatching pulls that layer out so your soil can actually breathe again. Root systems respond quickly when they're not suffocating under a mat of dead material. New grass comes in thicker, more even, and a lot stronger. It's one of the most effective things you can do for a Minnesota lawn coming out of winter, and the timing right now is just about perfect.

We've been doing this long enough to know that the yards that get proper spring attention early in the season are the ones that look great all summer. Skipping the cleanup and dethatching doesn't just delay results - it means your lawn is playing catch-up for months. We take care of it right the first time so you don't have to deal with it later. Serving Stillwater and the surrounding area.
